We are thrilled to welcome Anna Chen to Madrona as an investor based in our Palo Alto office. She will focus on early growth and acceleration stage companies.
Anna brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Madrona and bolsters our growing presence in the Bay Area. She previously spent two years on the technology investment team at General Atlantic in New York, where she focused on consumer subscription, marketplace, and SaaS businesses. Anna helped lead GA’s investments in industry-leading companies like Flo Health, and she supported portfolio companies including Chess.com, Pendo, and others.
Anna started her career in the M&A group at JP Morgan in San Francisco, covering technology, after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in business administration. While she was a freshman at Berkeley, she cold-emailed the founders of Fivetran to become their first intern when the company had fewer than 20 employees. That experience allowed her to develop a deep level of admiration and respect for the entrepreneurial journey and founders building category-defining companies.
Anna’s grit, sense of urgency, and work ethic make her a perfect fit for the Madrona team and a great long-term partner for entrepreneurs as they scale from early product-market fit to hyperscale and beyond. In her new role, Anna will focus on early growth and acceleration stage investments in enterprise software, AI, and consumer subscription companies, partnering with mission-driven founders across the country.
On a personal front, Anna loves traveling across the world and especially loved her experience visiting Southeast Asia, Japan, and Iceland. She attended the 2024 Summer Paris Olympics and enjoys watching competitive track & field.
