Baxter joined Madrona in 2025. He leverages AI and machine learning to identify promising founders, uncover early-stage companies, track emerging trends, and streamline Madrona’s data strategy.

Journey to Madrona

Before joining Madrona, Baxter was a senior data scientist at Amazon, where he most recently focused on real estate selection models and supply chain operations. During his Amazon tenure, Baxter developed a diverse technical skillset spanning the end-to-end data lifecycle — from data engineering and deploying cloud infrastructure with CDK to architecting neural nets and making decision trees explainable.

When he’s not in the office…

Baxter enjoys creating experiences that he can share with friends and family, whether it’s leading adventures in the PNW mountains, traveling to foreign countries, or experimenting with recipes for dinner parties.

Noteworthy

Baxter earned his bachelor’s degree from American University, where he gained early venture experience managing operations and risk for the student-managed investment fund at the Kogod School of Business — and he’s thrilled to return to the field.
